Today The Nokota Preserve was honored to stand alongside other incredible local organizations as we received a proclamation from the Chester County Commissioners for National Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month.
Board member and Nokota owner Danielle Cesare represented The Preserve in receiving this proclamation with a group of organizations united in one mission: to help survivors transition from exploitation to freedom.

We are deeply grateful to stand beside these compassionate partners:
- Thistle Hills (Sherry Deets): Chester County’s only residential program for survivors of human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, and addiction.
- Sound and Wellness (Carol Metzker): Providing singing bowls, soundscapes, and sound therapy. Carol is a longtime advocate for survivors of trauma, as well as a musician, author, certified sound therapist, and TTT practitioner.
- Church of the Loving Shepherd (Meg Cowan-French, Linda Klein, and Ann and Tom Bare, not pictured: Pastor Jill Laufenberg): Providing food and a peaceful, healing property for survivors through sound baths, reiki, therapy animals, and restorative experiences.
- The Wardrobe (Carrie Kronmiller, Shirley Weaver): Creating a dignified, boutique-style clothing experience where survivors can choose what they need and feel seen.
- The Nokota Preserve (Danielle Cesare, not pictured: Christine E. Boatwright, Robin Woodward): Offering equine-assisted, therapeutic experiences that support healing, connection, and emotional restoration.
Thank you to the Chester County Commissioners for this recognition, and to every organization doing the sacred work of helping survivors reclaim their lives. It is an honor to walk this path together.
